Specimen must arrive within 30 minutes of collection

CSF- Sterile Screw Cap Vial

Submit at least 2 mL of spinal fluid

Label vial with patient’s full name, date and actual time of collection, and type of specimen.

Maintain sterility and forward promptly at ambient temperature only.

Specimen source is required on request form for processing.

Cotton plugged or rubber stoppered tubes should not be used

Specimen should be processed within 30 minutes.
