1 mL of spinal fluid (preferably from first tube collected) tightly capped

Specimen Rejection

  • Improperly labeled, collected, stored, and transported
  • Quantity not sufficient

Storage and Stability

Analyze fresh, otherwise stable at 4o C for up to 72 hours

Reference Values

0-1 month 20-150 mg/dL
> 1 month 15-45 mg/dL
