Specimen Processing

Place chart sticker on specimen with the following information:                                                 

Patient's First and Last Name and Collection Date and Time.

Send the specimen to General Laboratory. General Labortory will then package the specimen ensuring the correct labeling and hold the specimen until the next business day or as instructed otherwise.The specimen will be shipped by US Mail to UPMC.
