Synovial Fluid- Green Top Sodium Heparin, Lavendar-Top Liquid EDTA, or sterile cup
3 mL of synovial fluid (minimum 1 mL/ 2-3 drops)
Specimen Rejection
- Improperly labeled, collected, stored, and transported
- Quantity not sufficient
- Clotted specimen
- Contaiminated specimens
Storage and Stability
Analyze as soon as possible
If delayed in testing, refrigerate up to 3 days
