This test measures coagulation factor X in suspected deficient patients.

Specimen Requirements

Draw 2 full, light blue-top (3.2% sodium citrate) tubes by “clean” venipuncture (no excessive trauma). Immediately after draw, invert tubes several times to mix blood with additive. Immediately spin down for 15 minutes, and place 3 mL of citrate platelet-poor plasma in a plastic vial. (Clotted blood is not acceptable.) Send specimen frozen. Avoid hemolysis.
