Heparinized dark green top (lithium heparin) vacutainer- NO GEL or a sterile specimen container.
5 mL of body fluid (1 mL minimum)
Pleural and Peritoneal only
Specimen Rejection
- Improperly labeled, collected, stored, and transported
- Quantity not sufficient
- Mucoid, clotted or viscous specimens may not be suitable for testing
Storage and Stability
Refrigerated 2-8oC for 3 days
